Yellow River

April 2, 2005

Don, my partner Dezmond, and myself went down the yellow as planned. Renee and Patty or I mean Ken were there to see us off. The water was very high and cold.  My partner and I flipped in the second set of rapids. We were close to shore so getting out was no big problem.  After changing clothes and realizing that we lost the beer, the trip was fast and less action packed although every turn and constriction of the river presented a new but not overwhelming experience.  Weather was great and so was the company.  Don had no problems in his canoe while my partner and I kept getting splashed by cold water. Class I+ to II was the entire first 5 miles of the river.  After crossing CO.D, the river became quiet the rest of the way to CO.O. Put on the water at noon and got to the landing around 3:30.
