Red Cedar River Paddle Saturday
Author Last Post
Howdy, fellow paddlers!
I'm looking forward to our paddle on the Red Cedar River this Saturday and wanted to make sure everyone knows where to go. The Google Maps pin is slightly off the mark. It shows our point of meet-up in a corn field about a quarter of a mile from the actual wayside where we will meet up.
So, when you are heading west on Hwy 64 from HWY 53, continue west for 9.2 miles. This should get you to the place where the highway crosses the Red Cedar. The wayside will be on your left, just before you cross the river. We will meet there at 10:30. We will drop a car or two off downstream and launch by about 11:00.
It looks like the conditions will be superb! Good water level and perfect paddling weather. Please, remember that it will take about 5 hours for us to complete the trek and we will be stopping on an island or other appropriate sandy place to eat lunch. There are no rapids, and you should see plenty of wildlife. The fishing can be pretty good, too.
If you have any questions, or would like to borrow a dry bag, or whatever needs may arise, please feel free to call me at (715) 450-9359.
