MINUTES TO JANUARY 12, 2005 MEETING

 

Meeting opened at 7:00 PM with introductions.

 

Treasurer’s report: Summary for our 1st year

Starting balance – June 2004                $0

Total deposits for the year                     $635.00

Total expenditures for the year  $239.15

Total interest payments on acct $ 2.23

 

Ending balance as of 12/31/04  $398.08

 

Ken Sebranek has completed his video presentation of our paddling season.  It will be presented at the next meeting, February 9, 2005 at 8 PM after our regular meeting.  Glen is going to provide us with some fresh kettle corn to enjoy at the showing.  Hopefully everyone can make it.

 

Nominations were presented for the election of new officers.  For President:  Brenda Puck; for Vice President:  Patty Schultz; for Secretary/Treasurer:  Theresa Raven.  For those who were unable to attend the meeting, we are opening the voting to members.  You may select from those nominated or if you wish to see someone else elected feel free to nominate him or her.  Please reply to my email raventheresam@aol.com with your responses by February 5th.  We will have the official results at the next meeting.  Also I have attached a list of the current members.

 

We also discussed appointing Ken Sebranek as our official historian/photographer for the club.  Jon Brutlag was also selected to continue being our webmaster for our website.

 

The logo contest is still going on, the deadline is March 1st.  At this time we have five (5) entries in the contest.  Copies should be available for members to look at during the next meeting.

 

Last call for anyone interested in the deep-water training and wilderness first aid seminar offered through UW Stout, planned for January 22.  Member fees for the event are $30.00 and $35.00 for non members.  Everyone is welcome.

 

Dues for 2005 are due again – they will remain at $15.00.

 

On the trip schedule the April 2 trip to the Flambeau has been changed to the 16th and the April 16th trip to the Yellow River has been changed to the 2nd.

 

Brenda Puck also brought in a summary of future events to be offered through UW Stout that we can attend.  There will be a link to it through our website if you wish to check out what is offered.

 

Patty Schultz provided a door prize of a Wilderness Paddling Calendar for 2005, which was raffled off at the end of the meeting, and John Plesac was our winner.

 

Also John is putting together a ski trip to Trollhaughen for Jan 29th, if interested please contact him directly at plejpx@hotmail,com

 

The meeting adjourned approximately 9 PM.  If anyone has any other trips or events they would like to throw out to the group, feel free to do so or bring them to the next meeting.
